Gogter is a dating app. Meeting people means sharing some things about yourself, so this page sets out exactly what we collect, why we need it, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Gogter is operated by [COMPANY NAME — to be confirmed], [REGISTERED ADDRESS — to be confirmed].
For any question about your data, or to exercise any right described here, write to [PRIVACY EMAIL — to be confirmed].
What we collect
Your account
- Name, shown on your profile
- Date of birth, used to confirm you are 18 or over and to show your age
- Gender and who you are interested in, used to decide whose profile you see
- Photos, profile video, voice prompts and bio, all shown on your profile
- Optional details you choose to add — work, education, height, languages, interests, lifestyle answers and prompt answers
How you sign in
You sign in with Google, Apple, or your phone number with a one-time code. We receive an account identifier and, depending on the method, your email address or phone number. We never receive or store your password for any of these.
Location
Location is central to how Gogter works, so this deserves saying plainly.
- We use your location to show people nearby and how far away they are
- Hearts — leaving a note at a real place for somebody who goes there later. We check you are physically at the place when you leave one or pick one up
- Paths Crossed — telling you when you and somebody else have been in the same place. This uses background location, and only runs if you allow it
- Places — showing venues near you, using Google's places data
Your exact location is never shown to another member. They see an approximate distance, never coordinates and never an address.
Background location can be turned off at any time in your phone's settings or in the app. Paths Crossed stops working; nothing else does.
Camera and microphone
We ask for these only when you use a feature that needs them:
- Photos and profile video — shown on your profile
- Face verification — a short selfie capture used to confirm a real person is behind the account. It is compared against your profile photos and is not shown publicly
- Voice prompts — short recordings shown on your profile
- Voice messages in chat
- Moments — the short posts that expire after a day
We do not access your camera or microphone at any other time.
What you send other people
Messages, photos, voice notes and reactions exchanged with people you have matched with are stored so the conversation works across your devices. Flares — the notes you can send before matching — are stored the same way.
Reported content may be retained and reviewed by our moderation team so we can act on it.
Compatibility answers
If you answer the compatibility questions, we store your answers and use them to calculate how well you match with other people. Individual answers are not shown to others — only the resulting score.
How you use the app
- Who you liked, passed on, matched with and blocked, so the app does not show you the same profile twice and so matching works
- Hearts balance and history — what you bought, earned and spent
- Your filter and notification settings
Purchases
Subscriptions and Hearts are sold and processed by Apple. Payment happens entirely inside Apple's system, and we never see your card details. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made so we can unlock what you paid for.
Referrals
If you invite somebody with your code, we record that they joined through you, so the reward can be given.
Technical information
A device identifier and basic sign-in records — when, and from what device — so we can secure your account and show you your own recent activity.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data
- We do not show your exact location to other members
- We do not use your photos, video or voice to train third-party models
- We do not show your compatibility answers to other members
- We do not post anything on your behalf
Who else is involved
- Supabase — hosts our database and file storage. Acts as our processor, under contract
- Apple and Google — sign-in, and payment through Apple
- Google Places — the venue data behind the Places and Hearts features
Depending on the region your data is hosted in, it may be transferred outside your country. Where that happens it is done under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
- While your account is open — for as long as you use Gogter
- Moments — expire automatically after 24 hours
- Hearts left at venues — expire on their own; the timing is set in the app
- After you delete your account — your profile stops being visible immediately, and data is permanently erased after a short grace period
- Messages — a message you sent stays visible to the person you sent it to, as it would in any conversation
- Records we must keep — a limited amount relating to safety reports, payments and legal obligations is kept longer where the law requires it
Deleting your account
Open the app and go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
Deletion is scheduled, not instant. There is a grace period before anything is permanently erased, and signing back in during that window cancels it — a decision made at 2am should be reversible in the morning. After the grace period ends, your account and its content are permanently deleted.
Unspent Hearts are lost when an account is deleted. They have no cash value and cannot be refunded.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything wrong — most of it you can edit yourself in the app
- Delete your account and data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for location, camera or microphone at any time, in your phone's settings
To exercise any of these, write to [PRIVACY EMAIL — to be confirmed]. We will respond within the time your local law requires.
Children
Gogter is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We ask for your date of birth at signup and refuse accounts below 18. If we learn somebody under 18 has created an account, we delete it.
Safety and moderation
To keep Gogter safe we may review reported profiles, messages and media, and suspend or remove accounts that break our rules. Where somebody is at risk, or where we are legally required, we may share information with law enforcement.
Security
Access to your data is restricted by database-level rules that scope it to your own account. Our staff access is limited to what a specific job needs, and administrative actions are logged.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change is significant, we will tell you in the app.

Child Safety Standards
Gogter is an adults-only dating service for people aged 18 or older. Child safety rules apply to all members and all content, including profiles, messages, photos, videos and voice recordings.
Prohibited content and conduct
Gogter prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Users must not create, upload, share, request, promote or distribute material that sexually abuses, exploits or endangers a child. This prohibition includes grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, sexual extortion involving children, trafficking, and material depicting child sexual abuse, including generated or manipulated material.
Reporting a concern
Members can report safety concerns using the Report option on a profile or in a conversation. Reports may identify a profile, message or media item. Child-safety concerns can also be sent to [CHILD SAFETY EMAIL — to be confirmed]. Do not download, forward or attach suspected CSAM to an email; provide the relevant account or content details so the safety team can investigate within the service.
Review and enforcement
Gogter prioritises reports of suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation. When we become aware of CSAM, we take appropriate action to remove it or disable access in accordance with applicable law. We restrict, suspend or terminate accounts involved in prohibited conduct, and preserve relevant records where legally required. Accounts identified as belonging to people under 18 are removed.
Reports to authorities
Gogter complies with applicable child-safety laws and maintains a process to report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority, as applicable. We cooperate with lawful requests and preserve information as required by law.
Child-safety point of contact
Contact [CHILD SAFETY EMAIL — to be confirmed] for child-safety concerns and notifications from Google Play. Gogter's designated child-safety representative monitors this address and is responsible for coordinating review, enforcement and reports to the appropriate authority.
